Start Button relocate??
Wondering if anyone has done a start button relocate from the centre console to the steering column? Any idea if there is any way to mount the button where the keyed ignition would normally be?
I had the centre console apart to day to fix a rattle and noticed that there doesn't seem to be anything more to the start button than just a button. The sensors for the key fob is completely separate. Moving the start button would allow a larger storage box to be put in the console and personally, I don't really care if people see that there's a button or not.... |

I'll try and see how difficult it is to take off the ignition cover blank and see for myself. |

Or, to do it properly, you can turn the steering wheel half a turn left, take out the phillips screw on the left side, and repeat on the right side and pull the lower part of the column off completely. |

I am in the process of doing it, I will post pictures when done.
But no, you can't put it on the steering column, there is no space at all |

Still there are probably better places to put it. I don't have seat warmers, maybe there. Where are you planning to put it tato.valverde? |

The primary reason why you can't do it is because a normal keyed ignition has both the steering column lock and the key/immobilizer in one assembly.
The push start has the steering column lock as one unit (the silver box as seen above) and the key/immobilizer as a second assembly. |
