Almost time for my first car, here is what I was thinking
![]() I was thinking the s13 hatch, if I could find one in my budget. I have know idea how much my budget would be in about a year, but hopefully I can get a decent amount of money. I work as a veterinary assistant by the way. (AWESOME first job, right? i love it!) I dont have my permit and will not have it for another 2 or 3 months, and then follwing that would be my license 6 months to a year before I get it. I am hoping I will be able to find one somewhere. there is like NONE in connecticut. when I lived in upstate NY there was one for sale for 2 grand. I know It isnt good to be picky with my first car, and I will try not to be. I would LOVE to have one of these, and in MT too! I have heard great stories about this car, and it is actually my 3rd favorite car. My best friend's cousin go t one as his first car. They live in vegas so that is probably how they found one. If you guys have any suggestions for first cars, that would be nice. I like japanese cars and some muscle cars. I also would like to drift someday so RWD is a plus, but chances are that I would wreck my car so i guess it doesn't really matter. Alright i will admit, this is kinda a pointless thread, but yeah. share some ideas if you would like!

That was the problem when I lived in vegas. You find one either all ricer'd out or in like 5 different colors and doesn't run. Out here in CT, well, There are just none in general. Whoa WHOA WHOA! are you from paradise city down by henderson? or are you somewhere else? just curious. Like i said, its not good to be picky with a first car, but OH MY LORD I LOVE THEM!!

I second the prelude comment, cool cars. But if you had your heart set on rwd, look at a miata, not as quick as the Lude, or as practical, but it runs on 87 octane. Dunno if you can make that work year round in Connecticut though. There just seems to be a lot of miata/toyobaru character overlap.

yeah, I would like rwd, but I am not limiting out other cars. In the future when i can spend an extra buck, i will get a rwd for drifting. I was completely clueless that the miata was rwd!! i thought for the longest time that it was fwd.. LOL

If you want cheap reliable rwd fun then a 240 or a miata are the way to go. BMWs are nice too but parts alone tend to be pretty expensive compared to their overseas competitors plus I think they tend to be heavier (not too sure about that though). I skipped on the miata because I cant get my legs under the steering wheel without hitting hard plus 240s are a little more stable. If you can fit and find a good deal go for some test drive to find what "YOU" like.

Well that's perfect for you! Now if you can get over beeing seen driving a happy meal toy they're actually pretty fun. I swapped with a friend at a drift event once. He drove my old s13 and I drove his boosted caged Miata. I dont remember the year but it was the original body style. Obviously losts of suspension work done as well as it making 280 at the wheels. Most importantly was the lower bucket seat and smaller wheel that allowed me to fit my legs in. That thing ripped but kinda sketch with such a short wheel base.

Prelude. I had a 91 Prelude 2.0Si as my first MT car (2nd actual car)...my god I loved that car to death. Mine didn't have the 4 wheel steering, but it was still a lot of fun to drive. Got a pic too.
