Almost time for my first car, here is what I was thinking

I was thinking the s13 hatch, if I could find one in my budget. I have know idea how much my budget would be in about a year, but hopefully I can get a decent amount of money. I work as a veterinary assistant by the way. (AWESOME first job, right? i love it!) I dont have my permit and will not have it for another 2 or 3 months, and then follwing that would be my license 6 months to a year before I get it. I am hoping I will be able to find one somewhere. there is like NONE in connecticut. when I lived in upstate NY there was one for sale for 2 grand. I know It isnt good to be picky with my first car, and I will try not to be. I would LOVE to have one of these, and in MT too! I have heard great stories about this car, and it is actually my 3rd favorite car. My best friend's cousin go t one as his first car. They live in vegas so that is probably how they found one.

If you guys have any suggestions for first cars, that would be nice. I like japanese cars and some muscle cars. I also would like to drift someday so RWD is a plus, but chances are that I would wreck my car so i guess it doesn't really matter.

Alright i will admit, this is kinda a pointless thread, but yeah. share some ideas if you would like!

Its REALLY hard to find clean S13s around here that havent been molested by 5 or 6 owners already. If you can find a nice example I say go for it

That was the problem when I lived in vegas. You find one either all ricer'd out or in like 5 different colors and doesn't run. Out here in CT, well, There are just none in general. Whoa WHOA WHOA! are you from paradise city down by henderson? or are you somewhere else? just curious. Like i said, its not good to be picky with a first car, but OH MY LORD I LOVE THEM!!

thank you for the suggestion, specific year? my cousin had a 1991 i think and I loved it, I was young tho probably like 12 or so, so i dont even know why I liked it lol

EDIT** just looked it up, it was the 1992 to 1996 prelude... it was one of those years

My cousin had the 4th gen, It was pretty cool, what i can remember, it sounded ok too. again, thank you for the suggestion. To be honest I kinda forgot about this car being a possibility.

YoshiMike13 06-20-2012 12:23 PM

Oh thats cool. I like bmw's but I heard that replacement parts are expensive. Thats just what i heard

YoshiMike13 06-20-2012 12:43 PM

Lmfao, yeah I know how that works. Haha that's cool. I just can't wait to start driving. I wish I could have a brz but that shiz ain't happening any time soon :(

I second the prelude comment, cool cars. But if you had your heart set on rwd, look at a miata, not as quick as the Lude, or as practical, but it runs on 87 octane. Dunno if you can make that work year round in Connecticut though. There just seems to be a lot of miata/toyobaru character overlap.
