VIS SS Race Trunk

I am really glad that I held out on my purchase of anything to do with the rear look of my car.

Within the last couple of weeks, VIS introduced the SS version of their CF race trunk.

I just ordered one and will get it installed next week. I dug around on their site and found these pictures:

Done! Took one look and it has exactly what I have been looking for in one nice piece.

Tak at VIS was very helpful and I am glad I called over there as I was getting ready to purchase their AMS style. The only thing I do not like about the AMS style is the hard lip/edge on the inside edge of the AMS. This SS is nice and smooth.

I will post some pictures later when it's installed.

If anyone has one of these - post a pic! I am dying to see what it looks like on a twin.

will the keyless BRZ locking mechanism fit in these aftermarket CF trunks? and do you need trunk pins?

All hardware transfers over (according to VIS) will know more in a few days

The lic plate light hole might need to be enlarged a little or something. Trunk pins? Not sure that plays here...

I am having the folks at PRE Racing fiddle it into place for me. Good shop. Sometimes these CF trunks need their fitment adjusted a bit. I will let them play with it.

I love the look of a duckbill spoiler on this car, and it is even better if it is a seamless transition to it. I also love my keyless trunk unlock as well, lol. hopefully everything transfers over without any hassle then I might look into this.

the reason I asked about the trunk pins is because most CF hoods require them. I assumed that it's the same deal with the trunk

Great. Just when I thought I was happy and could stop spending.

Ill try to wait for pics before I order. The ams one looks good too. I'll have to see where you are talking about the hard edges.

Maybe this picture shows what I am talking about a little better regarding the AMS style...

At the back it kind of goes straight up and cups at the corners...

Almost as if a tennis ball could get stuck back there....

Oooh I see it. Yeah I agree with you. That new one looks a lot better.

Make sure you post pics. I currently have a mod bargains carbon duckbill. It's slightly crooked and the double sided tape I used it was too hard to remove. Plus I like the smoother look instead of a stuck on/bolted on spoiler.

Did you just get it direct?

Gorgeous - well thought out lines. Jason at PRE said it gave him the chills when he saw it mounted. I agree. Awesome job VIS and PRE!

(Need to remove that plate holder now that the back is so clean - Sorry Grimmspeed - the time has come

Also - the crew at PRE had some work to do with the Dremel etc to get the hardware to fit. They went so far as to cover my car with blankets etc to keep the fiber dust from getting all over. Awesome job. Thanks!

what's the ballpark price that they charged to make everything fit? and is the locking latch secure?

Two hours shop time. It would have been much faster if the holes for the hardware would have been right - so - VIS - you could save folks some time and effort if you would make some slight mods

Seems secure so far. I put about 50 miles on it around PDX this evening. Over bumpy roads. No "incidents". I also found out that PRE is a VIS dealer after I ordered - They give a discount. I learned about it from VIS, though so - whatever.

Dang! Looks good. Now I need to decide. I'm partly leaning toward the ams since it seems to be a little more agressive and I have a km4sh kit on my car.

Have you seen the ams one in person or just pics? The pics I've seen make it look good...except that one you posted. Haha
