Dealer forgot to remove Spring Spacers

I bought my RS with just under 200 miles. The previous owner's deal fell through (at least that is what dealer said) and I happen to work across the street from dealer and saw this on the lot and jumped on it.
I cruised around for another 250 miles or so (it takes 2 days of my 172mile round trip commute to get that far) when late at night I noticed the "spring spacers" had not been removed. So of course I was like holy shit and decided not to wait to bring into dealer jacked the car up and removed these spacers myself. No big deal, obviously without removing the struts I had to cut off the dust covers and remove a zip tie and the spacers and all has been well since. Just curious on how you guys would of approached this dilemma? The salesman when I bought the car handed me the yellow paper in pic and said don't worry about this. The next day I went in just to see dealer's reaction to the pics I took before removal. They looked at me like I was the asshole and said bring it in. Which I didn't do. Just curious to see if you guys think I should follow up on this or let it be? I'd like to at least replace the dust covers!

apparently ive read alot of Dealers forget to take these out

FRS RS at my local Dealer (which i talked to a sales rep about getting into) looks pretty high for having TRD springs, so im assuming they are still on the car

"Why would I trust you a second time when you screwed it up the first time? Fool me once, shame on you..."

But I'm an asshole when it comes to dealers so there will be 2 people calling me out and 3 people defending the honest and hardworking dealership personnel.

Nothing you can do now. Should have brought it in. You chose to cut it off instead. It does suck they did that though.

So do you want to one-up the dealer by bringing it and showing them how to do it right? What do you want to accomplish?

If you really wanted to fix it, you should have documented before/after and get things in writing, and just send your complaint in to corporate and CC the general manager of the dealership. Otherwise, anything you do beyond this point will just be fodder for the staff to laugh at.

But hey, if it helps stroke your ego, go for it. Complain all you want.

Jedi everyone on the RS 1 group already had the dealers remove the spacers a few months ago.

I was just asking how others would of handled this. Thanks for the positive replies. Yes MAV I will go stroke my ego again and probably again tomorrow since it feels good. I have not brought it in to dealer. I did not even name the dealer in this post. What real purpose would that have anyways? I chose not to drive any further after discovery and took the spacers out myself on the spot. Inspected the struts and no apparent dings or nicks. I will buy new dust covers and call it a day. I have had the alignment checked at a friends shop and all is well in that department.

Well, I appreciate this. As I am looking at picking up a RS1.0 next week. This is good information for me to keep an eye out when I get the car.
