Michelin pilot super sport :normal wear?

Hi I've been driving ok Michelin pilot super sport tires for the last 4k miles and wanted to know if the following wear is normal. Attached are two pictures. The front and rear tires are both wearing faster in the middle with the rear wearing quicker most likely being RWD. Looking online it seems that this is common which led me to see if this is in fact normal or not?

Rear http://i.imgur.com/geGfdON.jpg

They were inflated 39psi when installed by the tire shop but 2k miles in I switched to 35/31 f/r.

What size tires are you running? For factory wheel size/tire size, isn't 35/35 psi recommended? 39 PSI is a little high, so that could lead to it wearing in the middle. Why are you running 31 PSI in the rear now?

I'm on 235/45/17 Michelin pss on 17x8.25 wheels.

I lowered it a bit thinking because it was over inflated causing the increased wear on the middle.

I run 32 psi on my 245/40/17 MPSS. I have very even wear and am at 21,000 on fronts and 16,000 on rears. I have new ones ordered...

I also ran my pilot super sports at 32 psi hot. My sizes were 255/40r18 front 265/40r18 rear. Tires wore even on all four corners, id say your problem was becuase you ran them at 39psi, thats too high imho.

ah, so it seems now that the wear is abnormal and most likely attributed to the 39psi that you've all mentioned. My 35/31 f/r were measured cold btw. I'm gonna check out the tire psi thread but will most likely go to 32psi all around and see how that works out.

thanks all!
