Wait for the STI or go with Limited?

Don't know what to do, and does anyone know when the package deals will be released for the BRZ's. Been looking through the forums for a few weeks now and have just love this car.

I think the STi Package would ideally be for 2014.

So expect mid summer of 2013, if not later.

There's no exact confirmation or anything really.

If you want a car now, get the Limited / Sport-Tech.

If you wait for the STI, you could end up waiting a few years. Plus you might not even like how the car drives, thus making the wait useless. And the differences between it and the Limited could be very minimal that there is really no point in waiting.

I would buy a Limited now, and if/when the STI gets released and you decide you want to set up to it, you'll know what you'll be getting, and have the Limited to trade in for it. Or if you decide in a few years that the BRZ isn't for you, you can trade it for something else instead of waiting.

Or consider typical STI fashion: $4k in upgrades, charge $10k more for car.

Life is too short to play the waiting game for the next greatest thing that may (or may not) come down the pike.

If you don't need the car right away, then wait.

I'd expect a revision on 2015 cars. If they pull a fast one next year though, it'd be a nut shot to all those who loyally bought the 1st gen this year.

From what I read, its suppose to have 250 HP N/A. SOA stated they've heard from their customers that they want more HP on the BRZ so they will address it with the STI.

I'm in the same boat as you, rightnow my local dealer is sold out and there is a waiting list for the regular BRZ. So I'm having to wait anyways so might as well wait for the STI version. Rightnow its very new and by the time the STI comes out which will probably be this time next year as an early 2014, the aftermarket parts will be more fleshed out with more tuners on board.

similar to the WRX, you will probably be able to make the BRZ perform as good, if not better, as the STi version, utilizing the vast amount of aftermarket support... Tough call, if you can afford a limited now, why not?

You can make the Limited better than the STi, probably for less money, once the aftermarket has a chance to catch up. In the meantime, you can be enjoying the car!!

This has actually been on my mind for some time. Regardless of the STI, I was looking to get the car around Mar-June 13'. I would expect an announcement to come Nov/Dec from the Auto show (like the production car) for the STI.

My dilemma is with the ordering process. For example if I want the standard car in Mar-June I would have to possibly order the car 6-8 months out (depending on allocations). This would have the car being ordered before the theoretical STI announcement. I heard as well that the next allocations could be in January for delivery.

I rode in a WRB recently and liked it, but am still waiting on a test drive though. The STi has peaked my interest greatly though and is stuck in the back of my head.

I think he means the STi version of the BRZ not the WRX(for those that seem to be confused). Without any kind of confirmation as to WHAT is going in the STi other than fashion we can't say if it's worth it or not to wait.

I would say you should get the car that has actually been announced and built versus waiting for a car that has not been announced and could never be built. But that is just me.
