15' FRS, Bluetooth audio sounds fine but when I make a phone call sound is crap. iPhone 6 and full signal. Anyone else have this issue?

Yep, I had this issue as well with the stock HU and mic, and still have it with Peioneer HU and Pioneer mic located in stock location. I think it's the mic placement. I keep meaning to either (a) relocate the Pioneer mic or (b) add some sound deadening to the roof above the mic. I think option (b) is the best option.

I get that sometimes. Not all the time. When it does happen its when I am talking to an iPhone. I use and Android. They report I sound fine.

Humm... I will have to do some testing. Most all my calls are to or from iPhone.

I did some testing... I called iPhone to iPhone and was the clearest call I have had. Then I started the car and the call went garbled. I hit the button to use handset, then clicked back to hands free and it was clear again. I will have to see if this is the full time fix or not.

Got a call as I was coming home today. Would be clear for a few moments then go garbled, switching then switching back would only clear it up for a few seconds. Real bummer on sound quality.

Does it sound like a robot?
It is something to do with the FRS head unit, I have the 2014 one.
Every other car, bluetooth headset, etc, is fine. But when I'm connected to the FRS it will sound like a robot at least once every minute for 2-10 seconds.
It isn't signal quality either, as it does it when I'm not moving.
It does it with android and iphone, multiple models of each.
If I switch to the actual phone, it is instantly fine.

Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

No problems with streaming bluetooth audio though.

I had the 13 unit but never had problems with caller audio. Can't speak to the newer units.

Don't know how they screwed this up, at least only phone calls are bad.

My '13 BRZ sounds acceptable but the caller can't make out what I'm saying. The quality is perfect when I'm stationary. It's decent around the city at lower speeds with the windows up but when you hit freeway speeds, this thing sucks big time. My '08 Sentra has way better quality over bluetooth. I've found the audio quality of music/fm to degrade at freeway speeds too.
