thinking invade N1

I am thinking of buying the invidia N1. Any supporters, anyone against it? If so why and what would you suggest instead. Just an fyi, i don't have insane $$ to spend on an exhaust

This is a hard question to answer... but I think I can point you in the right direction.

It is loud. Very much so.
If you like loud, you might like it.
If you don't like loud, you may not enjoy it as much and should shop for something more quiet.

Don't "settle" on something like an exhaust. Find out if you want loud, quiet, what sort of tone etc. and then browse youtube. I think there is also a database on here somewhere with the exhausts and youtube clips.

Also, it is loud.

Yes I want loud, I have listened to many clips of it and really like the sound

As a previous owner who removed it so that he wouldn't be bothered by the cops and make enemies of his neighbors, if you want loud then get the exhaust. Will you be coupling this with a catless header or any other modifications?

Lucky for me I don't live in a crowded neighbor hood with 3 houses and they are spread out and no that will be the first mod

Just be warned that with a catless UEL you may experience highway drone, I seem to remember some with the stock header as well.

Paired with a helmholtz resonator (I had an Ark Test pipe w/helmholtz) the drone is greatly reduced.

A catless header will also make it a lot louder.

When I did an overpipe swap, the volume barely (if at all) changed

So for the least drone with the loudest volume, what would you suggest

My past setup

Borla UEL -> PLM overpipe -> Ark Testpipe w/helmholtz res -> Invidia N1

It may have droned slightly at highway speed, but I am pretty sensitive to sound and it did not bother me one bit. Cold starts (even with my "quiet" Q300) were brutal though.

I love my n1 exhaust. I like the loud deep rumble. But I still think it could be louder. Lower and mid range rpm is perfect. At higher rpm the intake sound from the sound generator takes over (yes I know I can remove that with a perrin tube). But it would be even better just to get a catless front pipe later lol. I would not go full catless header and front pipe though. That would just be ridiculous. If I were to go full catless header and front pipe I would probably switch out my n1 for the quiet Q300 exhaust. But if you just want the catback alone, the N1 sound is perfect

I've just got an Invidia N1 myself. It is very boomy, inside the car too. I've read that it gets a tad quieter after few hundred miles, yet to confirm that. If you want loud, you'll like it, it gives out lower pitched noise which is what I like about it.

I've just put on the silencers today, and it was much more neighbour friendly and quieter inside the cabin, while still giving out a nice noise. I'm probably gonna stick with the silencers for a while so that I dont anoy my neighbours in the early mornings. :P
