Ichiba Wheel Stud Replacements
I thought I'd add my experiences from my install this weekend, and I wanted to post a fair bit of warning.
I was replacing my wheel studs in order to run 10mm spacers in the fromt & 15mm in the rear. I was trying to save a few bucks, so I purchased some used Ichibas for the front and ARPs for the rear. I purchased both the ARPs and Ichibas extended studs form members on the forum; however, the Ichiba's fit terribly. For the install, I used washers and an impact to install all my studs. I hammered the fronts out after removing the brakes. For the rears, I hammered the studs out then removed the hub and pulled the studs in. The ARPs are light years ahead of the Ichibas. The ARPs made my impact work to get set, while the Ichibas could almost be pushed in by hand. One of them wouldn't even seat, it just spun in the hub, and two others are wobbly and can be moved by hand. The knurl on the Ichibas is far too small for the hub. Talk about a waste of money. Fortunately, I put a nut on my factory studs when I hammered them out & they were still usable. I've already ordered ARPs for the front and this Ichiba crap will soon fine solace in the trash bin. I guess now I know why they were for sale. :/ So, do yourself the favor of buying APR the first time. I thought I was saving myself $25, and my poor purchase ended up costing me an extra $50.
