Exhaust and headers opinion

I see the threads listing all sorts of available ones but my question(s) are...

What exhaust has the best sound? Is it possible to give it that WRX/STI rumble?
I'm tossing between perrin and greddy at the moment.. just waiting to find accurate audio for the systems before dropping almost a grand on one.

and what kind of power could I expect out of headers? or should I even bother with headers if I plan on getting a turbo next year anyways

read Basic Bolt on mods guide link below

you will want a UEL header for boxer rumble.

Best sound is subjective, to me this is the best sounding 86 exhaust for the stock motor in existence:

Your best power gains will come from an Equal length header not an Unequal length header which gives you the 'subaru' sound...

If you want rumbles and no rasp, you need to get a 2.5in resonated catback. Dont switch out the front pipe unless you can find a 2.5in catted one. The overpipe will not really change the sound that much. Then throw on some Openflash headers, which are some of the most UEL headers you can buy.

My exhaust is 2.5 inch full Perrin headerback, catted and resonated. It has zero rasp and a lively tone but nothing shouty or annoying. Sounds very similar to my friends WRX.

The rumble will come from UEL headers, but...

I mean you could always resell the headers, but I would wait for the turbo.

You have a lot of research to do. I think my exhaust sounds the best... Others are going to think they're exhaust sounds the best... The only answer you're going to get here is that you want UEL headers.. And that you also want to wait until you buy a turbo.

Get turbo first. All sounds will change after.
