Just came back from the Toyota Dealership LOL

so I went to Subaru with my fiancee then went to Toyota. we went to check out the interiors.

Salesmen named Carlos comes up to us while we are sitting in the car and he asks if I'm Peter Lau. I said no, he said oh I'm just waiting for a Peter Lau. I'm like .....
anyway we get out of the car and I ask if I can take one out for a test drive. he said normally we don't let people test drive these but if you're nice and know something about the car I might.

I'm like ok..... well this has the TRD exhaust which is expensive compared to what you can get, it has the trd wheels as well. then he pops the hood and I point things out to him like oh this is the sound tube and here's the intake, but there's after market ones that are good like mishimoto or grimmspeed etc.

then he asks me what the difference is between the brz and frs (I told him I am deciding between the 2) and I said the front end, and the suspension was different but the 2015 is the same. then he tells me the FRS is an inch lower. I say yes it is if you put the trd springs on. he says nope and we argue back and forth then I'm just like whatever.

then he tells me that in the states, the frs is badged as a Toyota and not scion. LOLOL. I say no it's not, it's a scion in North America and a GT86 in like Europe and Australia, etc. he says no, it's a Toyota in the states. then I tell him I'll bet any money that it's a scion. then my fiancée tells him I know people in the states with frs' and he shuts up.

finally I ask him, do I know enough now that I can take one out for a test drive. he responds with a "no" then laughs. LOL.

then he told me to come back on Saturday so he can take me on a ride.....

edit: OH YEAH. he told me that forced induction, if installed by a professional, is covered under warranty! LOL

The TRD exhaust can be very cheap if it is already on the car. They can't deal on price but the add ons can really make a difference in what you can bargain on if you actually want what is already installed. I paid $180 (dealer cost for the parts) for the TRD exhaust that was on mine and am very happy with it.
I a, actually pretty surprised there are still sales guys that don't have the proper info on these cars since they have been around for a while.

yeah. I was more surprised that he was arguing with me. where do they get this stuff?!
I was pissed that he said no after I gave him a lesson on the car

^car salesman are used to playing games. I would complain to the sales manager or look for another salesman. If he wasn't busy waiting for Peter Lau, you would have been given a test drive. Don't wait until Saturday.

The sales person that sold me mine told me right up front that she nothing about the car. Her short skirt and tight sweater may have not gone over so well with your girl friend there though.
She couldn't get me into one for a test drive fast enough and almost dragged me across the lot to a recently traded in one. Had no gas in it so our first stop was the gas station where she immediately started to put regular into it. We then hit the country roads for about 45 minutes and I knew I was losing bargaining power by the second as she watched the smile on my face grow while I drove.

he assumed I was Peter cause I'm asian lol. then he was telling me how Peter Lau is like the leader of some frs facebook group, etc. and basically treating him like he's some big shot frs guy. it's just a Facebook group lol.

This story made my day XD

Perhaps I should look around for dealerships that has salespeople who own or at least know more than just the brochure about the Twins. Strike up a relationship and maybe get some discounts when it's time to buy.

Side note: Holy crap, this car is already breaking me out of my hermit status, and I don't even have it yet! I normally avoid people unless it's a necessity.

Lol that sucks I feel bad for you for experiencing such bad service. The car salesman that I talked to let me test drive the car at 17. Usually they won't let anyone drive unless they are 21 or have their parents with.

it was fun arguing with him and putting him in his place to make him stupid.

Would be funnier if he knew what he was talking about all along, and you got trolled because he needed to waste an hour before getting off work.

If that was me I wouldn't want him as my salesman. I had a sales dude who was rude to me so I bought my FRS through another sales rep. When I walked into the showroom to pick up my car I just gave the dude a big fat smirk cause he lost a sale from me. You wanna go to a salesperson who knows their stuff and then some. just my 2 cents!
