Humming from front

Recently I noticed humming sound from front. It is not crazy loud but enough to say something is definitely wrong. I rolled down my window tried to listen to the wheel or tire but can't hear anything. It is hard to tell if coming from right or left. It happens even when I am rolling in neutral. I am not sure if it is related, but my MPG noticeably went down. Last 15 fillups @ 27.5mpg and previous 80 fillups @ 28.9mpg. Any idea? What would be the good way to diagnose?

First, I'd suggest you check the tire pressure.

Next, jack up the front of the car and spin the front wheels ..... listen for a warn wheel bearing by comparing left and right wheels.

Maybe rotate the tires .... see if the sound is still coming from the front.

Maybe inspect the brakes .... for a dragging brake pad/sticking caliper.

I hope you get it sorted out.

I get some similar humming noises. I haven't been able to find anything amiss. It's definitely wheel/tire related, but I've spun the wheels with it jacked up and everything feels great. It's done it with stock wheel/tires and my current wider ones. It comes and goes.

I just chalked it up to resonance of things on certain road surfaces as it seems to be in similar locations (like decelerating to turn onto my street).
