Quick Question about installing a CAI

I noticed when installing my new CAI there is a hose that hooks up to the stock airbox coming from the left , there is no attachment for that to the aftermarket intake, so question is do you just take that whole rubber hose off and cap it or leave open? not even sure what that hose is for and there was no instruction for it. Thanks!

I believe it leads all the way to the firewall and creates engine noise in the cabin? I could be wrong.

Don't mistake sound-tube (that branches off stock (and some other aftermarket intake tubes)) vs CAI. Cold-Air-Intake, even stock one is of such type, as it too receives air using snorkel from before rad/somewhere in bumper. Installing aftermarket intake with no sound-tube attachment option .. just search forum for sound tube delete on how to remove it completely. If it's not used, why not save weight by removing it? Also beware that some intakes need MAF rescaling in tune, as otherwise they fool MAF sensor and it might result in AFR readings all over the place and engine running too lean (which in turn while seemingly providing 'HP gains' over stock, is not too safe for engine longevity). Though after MAF rescaling in tune gains for aftermarket CAIs are not that big, making it not too good upgrade vs cost, when compared to drop in aftermarket filter in stock airbox costing just $40 and bringing almost same gains.
