Mishimoto thermostatic sandwhich - NPT clearance
Anyone out there with the mishimoto thermostatic sandwich plate able to confirm if the NPT ports actually have clearance to use a sender, say oil temp?
By photos looks like the left side is very close to accessory belt and right is very close to oil fill cover. @Mishimoto thanks!

![]() Do keep in mind, this sandwich plate can be clocked in either direction to provide fitment with large aftermarket airbox setups or to fit a sensor. It will depend upon the sensor in question, regarding if the size and shape will be applicable. During testing we actually use in-line pressure and temperature sensors so the NPT ports are not actually used for R&D purposes. If they were this would be a bit easier to answer. Any idea what particular sending unit you were going with? Thanks -John |

@Mishimoto thanks for the response John - will be looking to install a ~1 inch oil temp sender, any thoughts? Photo seems quite tight!
Also, I noticed that the ports already seem to be plugged with Teflon, is that right or are my eyes deceiving me? Just want to check if I need to replug the side I don't intend on using.

I was able to turn my sandwich plate to towards the driver side and squeak in a temp sensor on the AC compressor side port. Its definitely a little disappointing I cant use both side ports.

Our sandwich plates come with these plugs pre-installed with teflon tape. When you install the sending unit for your gauge, we do recommend using teflon tape or a liquid sealant. Let us know how it goes! -John Thanks for chiming in! |
