Confused about my first oil change

I was searching about oil change since I was reading on here that it's either 6 months or 6,000 miles so I was wondering.. is the 6 months the time when I bought my car and drove it off the lot? I got my car in the middle of October last year and my 6 months of having the car is about to hit (April), so do I just call the dealer and request an oil change maintenence? (I currently only have about 2,000 in my odometer).

Also, anyone recommend a Toyota dealer in SoCal that has an awesome service and don't care if you mod your car? (No engine mod, just exteriors)

Yes, it is "whichever comes first."

In North America the Owner's Manual says 7,500 mi or 7.5 mo but the paperwork I got from the dealer when I bought my CPO car says 6,000 mi or 6 mo.

Changing synthetic oil at 2,000 miles is completely ridiculous, but that's what Toyota stipulates.

Personally I'm going with the 6 mo interval as long as it's free but going to 7.5 mo after I'm paying. That will be like 4,000 miles for me.

Thanks alot! Yeah, I was kind of confused about that. I will also be doing the same (changing my own oil) when my warranty is up, only doing this because of all the horror stories I read on here.

I also agree with you changing the oil at 2,000 miles is ridiculous..

First of all... Do you even enjoy your car? Sounds like you barely drive it lol.

I changeD my oil at 2k from dealer because it's free and secondly I rather not worry about metal shavings in my engine.

I think you should be ok about having exterior mods on your car, in one of my threads I asked the same question about voiding warranty and everyone says that as long as they can't prove that it caused a malfunction or damage to your car then your warranty is safe, but I'm assuming it's just for exterior mods idk how they are with internal mods that has anything to do with your engine or transmission etc..

Got my Fr-s at Carson Toyota, talked to the Service Mngr there and they are very mod friendly. My car came with the TRD exhaust & I "negotiated" a TRD intake, so I'm covered on warranty & CARB approved.

I changed my oil at 6k. i think 6 month for full synthetic is too soon. I talked to south coast service manager Freddy (was planning to do it at 4k) , he said he doesnt care when or how many miles ...you just need to know the factory free maintenance will cover 4 oil change within 2 years. I had grimspeed intake, they didnt care either
