MAF scaling, showing you what i cam up with
So I am new to ''tuning'' on the computer side of things. The only tuning I have done in the past was use a HKS VPC/GCC Combo with a wideband to tune my turbo MR2.
As far as OFT tuning the only thing I did was the popcorn poping sound of the exhaust and rescale the maf with the given Takeda table So please bear with me and all my questions :P If I use some bizarre words dont worry im a french canadian So i am using the mafscaling tool 1.6.3 My 1st chart looks like this in closed loop(I used excel and filtered only the fuel system status 2) what i used for dV/dT is the command AFR which I am not sure if that is right So I went to maf rescaling and said i want my max V for maf at 4.75V (highest ive seen in my log is 4.22) and the lowest ive put it to 1 (lowest was 1.11) So it gave me this chart From what i see on the OFT my LTFT is around 5.46ish from what i calculated using the average on excel of LTFT for both closed and open loop is -9.10ish. If i use only the closed loop i got about the same. Am I heading the right way to rescale my maf? Currect performance mods are : Greddy momentum intake Borla uel Borla fp/op combo Greddy SP elite Thanks a lot Eric |

You dont need to touch the min or max volts or the dv\dt just leave those at default values
pretty well leave everything default except maybe the min\max correction in the open loop section set to 10% instead of 200 as per kodename47 note in maf scaling post you dont need to filter anything in excell the vgi utility will di it for you just set the ol\cl value correctly dv\dt is not commanded afr |

yes do closed loop first then write that then do open loop once closed loop sorted. if you get a bump in curve around 3 v just smooth it a biy manually. |

ok so after reading and trying to do get my dV/dt with excel well I am not getting any results so I tried to use a random number in there to see what it does. Like in the example on here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1427448 i just used 0.3 So now I am getting a result. You are saying that the utility(program?? correct me if im wrong) will get my dv/dt from data? I dont get that srsly? Where do i go to get it? |

a) Drive as smooth as possible b) Mixed driving with MINIMAL idle/deceleration (slowing down in gear)/stopping/shifting c) Preferably do this on a canyon/mountain road with little to no traffic d) Intake temps around the zone where you drive the most (I.E probably 50-80F) THEN, using VGI's utility, input the following filters to your log into the CLOSED LOOP section: CL/OL Status Value: 2 MAF Voltage Maximum: 3.0 Engine Load Minimum: .20-.21 IAT Maximum: 300.0 AFR Maximum: 16 AFR Minimum: 13.0 dV/dt Maximum: 0.7 to 0.75 (do both, and see which curve is smoother) Cell Hit Minimum Count: 30 Smooth the bumps by selecting the cells around the area you want to smooth and either click 3 or 5 smoothing ONCE. Copy and paste the whole scale to your new map. Just like cooking, it's all in the ingredients and how simply they're prepared... your log is your ingredients and the filter is your preparation. |

as per what @Koa said above,
the strange bit arround 3v is because of the cutover between closed loop and open loop once you do the open loop scaling it will be a smooth curve again. the correction arround idle look about 9% so looks like it working correctly. |

The dV/dt setting basically removes any data where the change in MAFv is large and therefore likely to be erroneous. The smaller you set it the more reliable the data, however you could end up filtering too much data. If you do a very long log (1 hour +) then I would set it 0.3 or lower to give you the best results, if not then leave it default.

All right so I think i got the CL portion of it right.
this is my 1st rescale with the takeda info. AFR and command afr are pretty close and most of the time the LTFT is at 5.47ish http://www.datazap.me/u/trdric/log-1...=0&data=5-7-10 This is after my 2nd rescale ltft is around 0.78 and command afr and afr are pretty close as well. http://www.datazap.me/u/trdric/log-1...=1&data=5-7-10 Am I ready to go in the open loop or i have to put it a 0%? Thanks Eric |

Hey guys. Just uploaded a new ROM in my oft but it didnt ask me for checksum? I just rescaled my maf and saved it with a new name like I always do?
I use OFT OTS v2.063/BINs/ZA1J___C ROMS(US 6MT)/STAGE 2 UEL -91 oct.bin and just rewrite my maf on top on this one and save it under a different name. Maybe I didnt pay attention to it before but isnt it suposed to say checksum corrected when I uplaod it? |

also depends if you asked romraider to correct checksum if you edited. OFT will always correct the checksum for you |

all right so little update. I started doing the open loop scaling. From my understanding now I am going to play in the 2.5+Volts range of the MAF. this is the 1st run after I think i was done with the scaling in closed loop
Note that the temperature was a little lower than usually at -5ishC so I think thats is why my LTFT is a little higher than my last ones but still within the +/-5% http://www.datazap.me/u/trdric/log-1...1?log=0&data=7 This is the 1st rescaling with wot logging |
