Nitto neogen or hankook ventus??
I recently bought enkei rpfs 18x9.5 but not trying to dish out 700+ for hankooks even tho they are fairly cheap. I just DD my car so which tires do you think is a better investment? I know there are cheaper tires out there but tread wear life is my main concern.

Main concern should be maintaining decent grip in your worst possible usage environment. What is your usage envelope? Do you drive in colder weather (below ~50F)? Possibility of driving in snow?
For most people, a GOOD UHP (Ultra High Performance) all-season is going to be the way to go. The trick is to know in advance whether they are actually any good or not, and most are NOT so good... Highly recommend going to the Tire Rack website and looking at test results and customer surveys before buying any tire. Unfortunately they don't carry Nitto, so it's difficult to say how they compare. BTW, "Hankook Ventus" is not a specific tire, there are at least 5 different "Ventus" tires ranging from racetrack-only Ventus Z214 to "High Performance" (which means LOW performance) all-season Ventus V2 concept2. We got General G-Max AS-03 for the wife's Mazda3, and they've been way better than I expected. Firm sidewalls, the responsiveness was surprising, great wet grip, and they even dealt with a rare Atlanta snowstorm while other cars were stuck. $708 for four 255/35-18s from Tire Rack. Treadwear rating is 480, should give decent life. I think ours are at ~20k miles, should get to near 40k I think. |

Nitto NeoGen's are wicked. Especially for lowered cars as they have a stiffened compound on the innder shoulder to deal with negative camber. Highly recommend these tires. Hankook V12's are pretty good, not good in cold though.
Well, neither of them are good in the cold really. (canada, its cold as FUUU over here) so they're summer tires for us. lol |

I just got a set of Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 K120 tires and I love them! They perform great in both wet and dry conditions and I think they have a 320UTQ rating, so they should last for a little while. IMO they are much better than the stock tires.
Hope this helps! -Jimmy B. |

It depends on your needs. The Neogen is all-season while the Ventus v12's are for summer.

I put a set of stock size Hankook Ventus S1 noble2's on mine. UHP AS, consistently very high ratings amongst reviews and Tire Rack rated them highest for wet/dry performance in the category (they I think arrive at second overall due to middling snow performance).
