used ecutek question

If buying a used ecutek cable do I need to get the dongle with it or does that get replaced when I buy a new license?

Right, but does the vendor(tuner) supply the dongle with the license or it should come with the cable?

That depends... is the previous owner still using their EcuTek? If so, you'll need your own dongle. Otherwise, you can use theirs and have another license applied to that dongle.

The dongle is separate.

Yup.

Cable + Dongle + License (Consumed when you flash) (Gets applied to your dongle ID)

The dongle can be passed on even if they are still running a tune on the 1st car, it's down to the seller as to whether he keeps the dongle, however they aren't that expensive to buy. The license for the ECU will be applied to whichever dongle ID for it to then be flashed to the ECU when you flash the 1st tune.
