what tire size?
Hi,
yes another thread like this. I have done a lot of research online and called up three tire places. The message seems conflicted. Perhaps the forum could shed some light. Stock size rims are 7" width. I have after market lighter rims that are the same 17" diameter but 7.5" width. I currently have my oem tires on these after market rims. They look stretched. Like the tire is not the right fit and for obvious reasons. the 7" width translates into 215 mm. Here comes my long awaited question. I am buying new tires should I go with the 215 or 225? Tirecrazy, tirerack, townfairtire and asked their opinion. Must recommended I stick with the 215. Tirerack told me 225 was going to be fine. I dont want to buy a larger a tire and not have it fit but I dont want the smaller one that looks stretched. Maybe the oem tires have poor sidewalkls giving that stretched look. thanks in advance

Either size is fine. 225/45-17 will obviously look a little less stretched and 225 is typical OEM fitment on a 7.5" wheel. If 215 looks stretched to you, get 225/45-17. No biggie.
