2015 Extra HP

Had a phone call from a friend tonight that own's a dyne shop and a FRS. He has dyne tuned several FRS/BRZ's now and everyone, including my 2015 showed about 165 hp stock. Last week he tuned a new 2015 that bone stock showed 180 hp. He did several pulls to confirm it and every one came up the same. 180 hp.
Anyone have a clue as to why?

One of those cars that left the factory with more power. I have a friend with an 8th gen Civic that dyno'd more than other Si's of the same year.

Your car is auto and this other is manual?

Yes, mine is an auto, don't know what the 180 HP was, probably manual. but Wryann has dyne-ed several other manuals that showed about 165 stock.
Isn't 180 hp pretty high for any stock motor. PS, this was done on a Dynacom dyne.

This is my car op is talking about
It's a manual.
All run on 92 pump gas. E10 blend

Don't believe he has dynoed other 2015 fr-s. The tuner himself has a 2014 that puts down 180 (18invh wheels though) after a brz edit flash. His car has a drop in air filter and a 3 inch perrin catback.

Mine is a 2015, automatic, same gas as Sachu's, 4.88 gears but don't think that would make any difference. Mine did 164 stock.

I wouldn't read anything into this. Could just be a fluke.
That said I do have an appointment to get mine baselines at drift office later this month. Will be curious to see what numbers and curves it puts down on a different dyno.

Were all the dyno's done in the same gear?

Same car, one pull in 3rd, the other in 4th. Two different results :P
