Dream Project import car?
I know this is gonna sound childish, but when I was in highschool living in Japan (military father), most of my older friends owned JDM imports like s14, 180sx, rx7, etc.
I think this had a great impact on my taste in cars, as I was certain I would get a Asian made vehicle, and I think the BRZ definitely has that feel to bring me back to those days. Anyways, my question is: do you have a dream project JDM car from the 80-90s era? If so, what is it? I'll go first I think if I get the chance later down the road, I want to get an Impreza Type R to mod, or a 240sx. 240z or rx 7 FD would be fun too, but I feel that those are way too hard to find in a decent condition. |

When i was in high school back in 2009, i had a 92 subaru svx and i loved it. I wanted to swap the automatic transmission for the 5 speed transmission from the WRX and do many other mods.
I had many dreams with that car, unfortunately, i had no money and when the car broke down i had no money to fix it neither... I end up selling it as it is and then just moved on.. |

MK1 MR2 (preferably a 1985). I want to restomod one, bring it up to modern technology then drive the crap out of it.

Agreed with Dadhawk: make a killer Mk1 MR2, I'd string that little fourbanger out to the edge of reliability then beat the hell out of it until it beat me back.
But I'd prefer to build an SA RX-7, however I do not have the skills to do so at this time |

With an unlimited budget and a 90's jdm. Two choices:
Fully built everything jgtc widebody 1000+hp NSX turbo street car. Or RE Amemiya widebody 4 rotor FD rx7 race car.

S15. I had a S13 for years when I was younger and always loved the look of the S15s.

When I was in high school Japanese cars were few and far between around here and we called them all "jap crap".
Just after high school I got a '72 Celica GT and had big plans of rebuilding it. Those hopes were dashed when I started working on it and found that there was not a single piece of horizontal underbody that didn't crumble away to dust as soon as any pressure was put on it. It was only a 5 year old car! Like this:

I haven't seen one in the wild around here for decades. That was the exact paint I had right down to the stripes.
