Do Power Outlets still drain when car is not on?

Hi Everyone,

Been searching around google but had no answer - if you leave something plugged in the power outlets either in glove box or the center console, will the car battery still be discharged when the car is not running?

I know that things are off when the car is off but there was a recent case where my friend's porsche battery died due to him leaving something plugged in the power outlet.

Thanks!

Our power outlets are switched so no power is provided while the car is off (Like you noted). With no power provided to the outlet there is no current available for the device plugged into it to drain. So, no, Leaving something plugged in will not drain your battery.
