A turbo or supercharger will start at around $5K, so I assume that is over your budget.

Don't bother with the intake or catback.

If you really want to add power on the budget you gave then headers and a tune are the best bang for your buck.

Lighter wheels will help you use the power you have more effectively.

Unless you are tracking often, all you need to upgrade for the brakes are pads and fluid.

OFT + OFT Header for starters. Best bang for the buck imo.

If I were to start over again:

1) wheels + tires (RPF1 17x9 +35 are a great value)
2) drop-in filter
3) catless header (either OFH or Tomei) + OFT
4) catback for sound (your preference)

Sticky tires, Toyota camber bolts, TRD carbon fiber front strut bar, TRD door stabilizer, Toyota 86 optional Sachs dampers, alignment.

$3000 right there with labor?

Sorry just not into POWER mods for this car. Corners are much more fun.

If its POWER you want, then spend the money that makes the most POWER for the least money.

A no brainer - OFT.

Then of course sticky tires etc. etc.

Ask yourself what you want out of the car first, do you track, just do some sprints around town, then work on that. This method has worked for me lol too bad it got me purchasing a turbo. If you want power NA, flex fuel kit with full exhaust(incl. header).

Pretty much this^. Don't forget though you need to decide how you're going to tune the ECU for any mods you make. A lot are going with the OFT (OpenFlash Tablet), though some choose the ECUTek tunes - more costly though (IMO better for the serious builds that need the extra features in RaceROM).

With other cars I've owned always start with your tuning, then see what you're left with to buy parts. Personally: OFT + Header (catless), drop in filter for power for now. Save for a year, then getting a JR supercharger with oil cooler. The header already is a supporting mod and the filter didn't set me back anything really in the end. I wouldn't worry about aftermarket CAIs for this car, the stock intake is plenty fine unless you want a different sound.

Sound advise. I'm running ecutek with full exhuast and couldn't be happier. From here on is forced induction. I was also minutes away from purchasing the Jackson racing kit, chose turbo for personal reasons even though less reliable.

I use my car as a daily driver and will also be my track car.
My mod list in order for performance is:

1 - 18x9 wheels/hankook v12 evo tires (need lighter wheels though!)
2- OFT tune
3 - coilovers (install in summer with only a 1.5" drop for my plans)

Next up are headers and catback so I can run stage 2 tune and thats it for mods until I get more seat time at the track.

If you want performance upgrades, hands down go with the OFT/OFH combo to start off.

OFT and if you don't mind deleting a cat, combine it with a header.
