2014 Pioneer Touchscreen GPS Antenna placement

For those of you with the 2014 AHA Pioneer radio, can any of you tell me where the GPS antenna is mounted by the factory or dealer?

The instructions that came with the GPS unit (bought it through a eBay vendor for $399) say to mount the GPS antenna to basically any spot "under" the dash, but I wanted to see if anyone know where the OEM location was. It definitely does not come with a long enough lead to go the roof, so I'm thinking it must be on the top of the dash somewhere. The antenna is about a 1 inch square black piece. If it works inside the dash that's all good, but GPS is line of sight so I would be surprised it works well there.

Just to finish this off, it does go under the dash.

It comes with a self-stick metal plate. I placed the plate under the dash to the right of the radio and as far towards the firewall as I could reach so it was under the windshield. You then attach the magnetic antenna to the plate.

It works great. I easily pick up 9 to 10 satellites or more in that position, way more than you need for an accurate fix.
