Electrical Issues

So.. I'm having two electrical issues, thought I'd post here to see if anyone else has had these problems or knows how to fix them.

First is my emblems front and back. They don't light up when I open my car door anymore, either drivers side or passenger. The Scion 10 lights up in the passenger dash still, just not the emblems outside.

The second problem is my power port in the center console. Seems there's an electrical short as anything I have plugged into it will cut on and off whenever I bump the center console with my leg, or hit any bump in the road really.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I took it to the dealer and the idiot checked the usb port on the radio instead of the power port. He also said he had no idea about the emblems, that he'd have to research it. Anyone know which fuse goes with those, or if they even have a dedicated fuse?

Check your manual. I believe for the 10 Series, under your drive dash, there is a switch to turn those emblem lights on or off.

Best of luck.

Already tried that. There's no switch to turn the emblems on and off. The switch under the dash turns the passenger side dash board light on and off.

See if there's anything inside the center console plug. If it's clean you can remove the center console and get to the bottom of the plug pretty quickly. Check out the clutch DIY for the first few steps on how to remove the console, it has great pictures. I'm on my phone or I would link it.

Yeah, it's not dirty at all. I have one adapter that has an extremely tight fit. I noticed it's led went out when I bumped the center console with my leg. I got it to work once by stuffing water bottles between the console and passenger seat x.x

The FRS Badges is a can of worms that hasn't been opened before. This isn't a common dealership problem as it's only limited to the 2013 year FRS. Assuming you're still under the warranty, I would take it to the dealer.

New can of worms is right. I took it to the dealer and even they said they'd have to research the problem.
