Transmission issues (or me being too anal)

So I just hit 5k miles on my 2015 BRZ and I'll be taking it in to service at 6k. I wanted to ask your opinions on a couple of questions. Keep in mind that its my first manual car so some things might be like ABCs to you.
1. Clunk sound when I clutch in. Its not loud, I can only hear it if my music is completely turn off. I'm assuming it's normal operation.
2. If I don't rev match properly there's also a clunk when I'm letting go of the clutch.
3. When I reverse out - every time I push the clutch in (after I reversed) i feel like the clutch or something in transmission bounces back and forth once.
4. Impossible to put in first gear at any speed more than 7-8 mph. Double clutch doesn't help.
5. Sometimes when I'm upshifting I hear a slight whiffing noise from the tranny when I'm pushing the clutch in. Sounds almost like I didn't let go of the throttle completely, but I did.

Which one of these are any concern, and should I raise any of these with the mechanic?

Thanks guys!

Welcome to the world of aisin az6! All of your symptoms have been deemed as normal operation by dealers and enthusiasts, alike. It will get better (aka, you'll get used to it) as parts wear in, but won't disappear.

С днем рождения, чувак!

My transmission at times has exhibited every one of your symptoms, at 33,000 miles it has gotten smoother and better with time.

I think #5 in your case may have to do with the electronic throttle, it feels like there's a delay there whenever my right foot is moving quickly.

This is normal. Even when I had my wrx, it did the same but eventually smooths out.

All normal, and not unique to an Aisin transmission.

sound normal to me.
#4 you can try revving the motor a little(~2-3k) and the lever should drop in.
also its a safety built in to protect 1st gear.

Transmission issues (or me being too anal)

Thanks swarb! I let my buddy drive my car yesterday and he told me the same thing. He actually showed it to me

Another question for you guys. For rev matching should I be matching before I put it into gear or after? I usually do it once it's in gear and before I blip the throttle. Is that right? Thanks!!

So I've been doing it wrong the whole time. Ugh. Now the key question is did I put any damage on parts of my tranny by doing that?

it should all be one smooth motion, clutch in, move gear towards other gear, blip throttle and then putting it in gear and letting clutch out.

its essentially the same up shifting shift except you are downshifting and you give a little blip.

Yeah it's just when to blip. So if I'm going 4th to 3rd for example I blip right after I moved the lever out of fourth but before it enters third?
