Sport car? If I'm interpreting that correctly I believe it could mean a fwd sports car. Since fwd and sports car in SOME people's minds don't go together and they may be treading lightly. Hopefully we see an nsx, a cheap light fwd SPORTy car and the civic si.

I would think "sport car" would be Acura's equivalent to the Civic SI.
In other words, Integra or RSX.

Sounds like the same car as the rumored turbo coupe s2000 successor from a few months back. I'm guessing it will be an Acura and resemble neither the S2K or an Integra. It'll just be one new "affordable" sports car under the NSX......... hopefully RWD or AWD. (Boooo Fwd
)Then again, I have no idea what "sport car" means. |

I know there will be a Honda coming around to be excited about.. I haven't heard anything from the Acura side though.
Their version of "to be excited about" may be different from mine. but here's to hoping....

I hope they bring back a car that will capture the spirit of the Integra. I have owned a lot of vehicles (close to 80) in my lifetime and I would rate my Integra GSR in the top five of my favorites. That is higher than both of my Supras and right there with my 280Z and 69 Camaro Z28. I get all nostalgic just thinking about that Integra. It was just a joy to drive.

Is there any possibility that they would bring the Civic Type R over as an Acura?

I had 2 new Integras in a row. A '96 sedan and a '99 coupe both fully loaded. Both were stick BTW. I was so satisfied I bought 2 other Acuras afterward. Only in 2008 was I put off Honda after a loaded Accord with squeaky bushings, prematurely wearing brakes and some cheap interior parts.
For a 'mild' enthusiast the Integras were great cars. And the sedan performed same as the coupe which made it feasible at a time when I was newly married and anticipating having kids. I like the direction they are alluding to. The FR-S wouldn't have gone over for me then. A sedan version on the other hand... My very controlling first wife was upset I didn't get a 4 dr Grand Prix! Current wife, even with our young son still gave me her blessing on the FR-S. Honda was until this decade the sportiest Japanese brand to me.
