Apparently I wanted to join the club....

A buddy of mine showed me an article about how our cars are supposedly the #1 ticketed car of a sample group. I laughed it off and mentioned that I haven't gotten a ticket in 3 years.

Well on Saturday I started the clock over. 89 mph in a 60.

It was a 6 lane deserted interstate. They were running a speed trap with a helicopter. My escort redline was no help. Unfortunately for me the particular county I got stopped in just made more stringent rules. According to my attorney I have to complete 29 hours of community service. One hour per mile an hour over the limit.... ouch! However no points.

My boss just got stopped in the same spot today. 106 in his 14 f-type r. They wrote it for 79 and told him to slow down. Lucky!!!

I drive slower in this car too. I think it has lots to do with the noises. Because the last time I plug up the sound tube. I was doing 80-95 with out a second through. Lol

This is my first car, I believe, that has a digital speedometer and I think that has caused me to stay much closer to the speed limit. With an analog speedometer I'm able to dance 'somewhere' close to where I'm supposed to be at and feel kind of right in saying "I set my cruise to 65 MPH officer." With a digital speedometer telling me "Dude, you're AT 74 MPH. Like ACTUALLY." Maybe it's because the number is actually displayed and there's no breathing room for me to lie to myself I drive much closer if not right on the dot of the speed limit. 65 mph? BAM, hit that cruise control button.

To be honest I got rid of my motorcycles to get the car. Wife didn't like the bikes and I couldn't say I was being smart on them. My heavily modded Yamaha Vmax saw triple digits nearly every time it was out. In my car I normally drive 15 over. But I switched companies and now have a 35min commute of all highway. Much harder to drive slowly lol. I got pulled over again this morning for 71 in a 60 and he let me off with a warning. First time that has ever happened. I have been getting flack for not having a front plate though. Can't believe I got stopped twice in one week. I've had the car for 6 months and not had any issues previously.

Around here if you do the speed limit you're the one causing a hazard. I try to keep it to ten over unless I'm in a construction zone.

Is it usually just a warning/fine for the tints? I'm in NJ and I want them, but I don't want to be forced to rip them off on the side of the road (like I've heard before). Plus I was just stopped at a road block last month where they checked my windows for tints.

Well... Sure hope you were pushing the 89 mph through a turn or corner since that's where all the fun is.

(In all honesty though, there is much more fun to be had at the track )

Same in the major highways here.
Speed limit 100kph set the cruise on 120 and fly past the cops no problem.
Do 100 and you will very quickly have a truck up your butt!
Do under 100 and the truckers will hunt you down!!

Yeah I honestly wish we had a decent track here locally. We've got gateway a small drive away. From what I hear though it is pretty crappy. I have thought about getting into a local auto x group however. Probably cheaper then this ticket is going to end up being!

One of my favorite things to do in this car: There is a long sweeping on ramp that tightens up at the end. I absolutely love just smashing down that thing.

never been forced to rip them off, usually just a warning, but if you do get fined, its only 56 dollars, not bad at all,

luckily *knock on wood* i havent been ticketed yet in the FRS for it, seems like in this car, they dont notice it lol
