Stock vs Milltek exhaust

Hi all,

I'd like to share my video comparison between stock and Milltek exhaust,
it is the non-resonated secondary cat: centre + mufflers.
hope you like it.

I hope you know Milltek offers a Warranty?
It will replace faulty / bad welded parts at their expense.

I have my own Milltek (Primary resonated) and the welds look good, they will hold it together except at the muffler part:

The red circle is the weak spot off this exhaust, it's welded on to a bend of thin SS steelplate which is around 1mm thick.
Other exhaust (OEM, etc) take the blue line route because it's stronger and less vibration.
And yes, this is done with MS Paint

Still a nice piece of exhaust with a very nice sound
And I'm lucky, I have a maintenance pitt and welding-equipment at my disposal.

on mine it broke at every junction of tube and exhaust silencer (Can)
So at the back box like you mention

But also at center section first in front connection of silencer then week later at back connection of silencer.

then a few week later at front of the front section silencer so that time I directly ask the welder to reinforce the back of that silencer.

I also had the milltek exhaust join falling a part creating leak so change to some better one's.
In the last six month my exhaust have been more often of the car that on.
So the exhaust had to be reweld at 5 place's and now I keep finger cross that it doesn't crack again.

Milltek in Europe were not helping much on warranty side. after I send picture of the crack they said that I must send the exhaust part for inspection on my own cost and that they will check if that is a warranty. that would have cost me much more than get it weld and also much more days of the road than just going to the welder.

When it crack you will hear it, as the noise from exhaust will increase when hot. it's a very fin crack at the junction's that stay close when cold and very hard to see but as soon as exhaust get hot and different stainelless part get heat and expand it Open up and you can clearly see it and hear it or feel the hot air escaping with from that place. The wall of stainless at junction of tube and silencer is too fin so after many heat cycle were the the tube inside of the silencer expand and retract it then crack their.

Just a wrong design with too fin wall their.
