Glad I reread that. In my mind I initially read "100 Greatest Japanese Sports Cars" and immediately questioned as to why the Prius was on the list.

"Greatest" is relative. I have owned a few of the exact cars on the list and a couple of them were real POS. I can see the rationale for naming them because they were steps in the evolution of the Japanese car invasion into the US market but they were far from a pleasure to own.

Just linkbait. Japan hasn't made 100 great cars. 30 tops. The Prius is the anticar.

Great cars? Twins, nsx, miata, integra, early wrx, early evo, rx7, s2000, early z cars, gtr, ae86, early civics, early accord, supra, land cruiser, 4 runner, xb, 323gtx, Toyota small pickups, lfa. Not the rsx. No prius, camry, lexus boat bullshit appliances.

Trying to rank 100 cars of various types from different eras is impossible. How do you compare a 1967 Corolla vs. 2011 LFA vs. 1951 Land Cruiser vs. 1992 Camry?
You can't in any sort of meaningful way.

Read the article and you'll see why the author chose Camry and priuseseses for the list... It isn't about performance, its about impacting Japanese cars and their perception in North America
