A couple of newb questions sorry..
Sorry these questions are very newbish but would really help me out as I don't actually know any owners of this car but I'm thinking about buying one.
1. Do all the models 86/GT86/BRZ have a LSD? 2. Why does the car not sound like a typical Subaru? They're so quiet. Is it just a matter of changing the exhaust system to get the classic Subaru soundtrack? 3. How happy are owners of the Innovate/Bullet/Sprintex supercharger kit? I'm definitely planning on supercharging mine from the get-go as I know this car isn't going to be quick enough in a straight line for me coming from a V8 past. 4. Intercooled or non-intercooled? This will just be a daily driver after all. But I'm confused as to whether the current opinion is for the intercooler or the non-intercooled version. Some appear to suggest than unless it's for track use the intercooler is unnecessary. Others say you'd be crazy not to include it. 5. Tuning As I understand it these kits can some with a ECUTEK controller to flash the existing ECU. Do most people need to follow this up with a local tune on a dyno or is it that good you can just download it and it's perfect? Any opinions on these topics muchly appreciated. Thanks |

2. If you are referring to the WRX rumble this is a result of the unequal length header on the WRX. The 86 comes stock with an equal length header. Look up some videos of the AVO turbo kit(comes with unequal length header) and you can hear the rumble in the exhuast.

As above, a UEL header and sportier exhaust will give you the sound you want.
Here in Aus all the current models come with an LSD, however when the 86 was originally released here the GT didn't if you bought the automatic. I am still NA so can't comment on the supercharger. Personally I wouldn't waste my time with the non-intercooled version. For forced induction local tuning is probably safer. That said @DeliciousTuning has a great reputation on the board with tunes for the innnovate S/C and could probably supply a base tune that they then tweak through logs you provide.

4. They sell the kit without an intercooler because they believe a daily driver doesn't need one. obviously the intercooler will generate more power and resist heal soak better. I think the non intercooled version is a good deal for the money. I think when you look at the price of the intercooled version it's not as good a deal(more expensive than the rotrex superchargers).
5. The tune provided by sprintex will be a conservative reliable tune that should work just fine. No follow up tune is needed but will probably unlock a few hp and run a bit better.

Is the kit going to make enough power out of the box for you? If your planning on getting a smaller pulley later you might want to get the intercooler to be safe

3. I have an na frs, but my friend bought the kartboy brz from kartboy. It is a fantastic car, but for the price that was put into the innovate stage 2, you could do a avo or mdl turbo and be making a ton of more power. The power is not all that different it has a little bit more kick up to 3rd heard past 3rd gear it feels just like my na frs. that being said the brz might be going to be turbo soon.

2. UEL on the exhaust manifold. Stock is EL. 3. It will be if you put the time and money into it. Otherwise my supercharger of choice would be the Jackson Racing one. 4. I can mathematically show you why an intercooler is better but... TL;DR get the intercooler. 5. Assume all ECUTek tunes are meant and designed for the kit to run on the car and for you to get it to a local tuner. At which point the tuner makes it streetable under a very large range of conditions.

If you do not want to use a local tuner, we do offer a solid tune for just about any forced induction application.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75741 Switching to a different kit down the road for more power. It will work on that also. Cheers, William Knose Delicious Tuning |

Just wondering how the different supercharger kits compare installation wise? ie. Do they each take a similar amount of work to install or are some of them more straight forward?

Innovate stage 1 does not require the bumper removal since it doesn't have an intercooler. This is significant since people have had issues with bumper fitment once it has been removed. Can't speak for any of the other kits

Other kits are not water to Air intercoolers so they have the air to air intercoolers with much larger pipe work in the bumper.
