Transmission warranty.
If you have had your transmission warranted for worn syncros I need your repair order.
Some of us have been getting claims denied for aftermarket wheels/lowered/turbo etc. The Magnusson moss act requires a dealer to provide a technical report of how your lowering springs(or whatever aftermarket part) caused the part to fail. These dealers are refusing too. I've contacted the federal trade commission. Better business Bureau and my states consumer protection. They have all recommended legal action. We all know a turbo or springs or wheels or an exhaust doesn't cause a syncro to wear prematurely. But a local dealer does and has told regional that it does. Despite going to other dealers that claim it's common and willing to push the warranty through it still gets denied at regional. So I'm taking this to court. I'm also going to do my best to push this issue towards a recall. If you have your transmission warranty repair order post it or pm me with it.

In all seriousness, stick it to the man.

I had mine replaced under warranty no problem. I am lowered with new front and rear sway bars and running E85 which I disclosed to them because I didn't want them flashing my car for any reason. I also have a Billet Pro Shop short shifter. They replaced it without any haggle whatsoever.

Some turbo guys have received transmissions and some people with an exhaust have been denied. This thread is to collect repair orders for a court battle.

Arn't you obligated to arbitrate this issue? I'm sure you signed that waiver somewhere in the process. May want to have your attorney review your sales contracts.
Then again, maybe not http://cdn.ca9.uscourts.gov/datastor...0/09-55963.pdf |

Transmissions are built to withstand only a certain amount of power. I think most people know that adding power is going to stress components more. You added power. And a decent amount of torque specifically at that. Sucks that it happened, and hope it gets covered, but it's not looking good. |

That's like saying the added grip from these tires caused my steering wheel to peal.

Go to a different dealer, the guy in charge of mine was extremely helpful, he said that their shop manager or whatever gave grief about my headers (not even close to the tranny) but he told him otherwise.
He also said he's already seen 3-4 of these issues.

They could also argue that with that kind of horsepower going through the gearbox it has caused the entire housing and/or the shafts to distort/bend while transferring likely twice the intended horsepower/torque through the gearbox resulting in abnormal wear or breakage of the internal components. I wish you luck but I don't think it going to be an open and shut case. The synchronizer has to overcome the momentum of the entire input shaft and clutch disk when it is changing shaft rpm to match the new gear ratio. It can be abused by exposure to the momentum and power of the engine, which is what happens when attempts are made to select a gear without fully disengaging the clutch. This causes extra wear on the rings and sleeves, reducing their service life. http://www.rsgear.com/blog/2011/5/23...-failures.aspx Last edited by steve99; 10-08-2014 at 01:38 AM. |

So you're saying 400 Hp with the clutch in at 6,000 rpm is more abusive than 200 hp with the clutch in at 6000 rpm because of momentum? That doesn't make sense.
