Classic/Used car broker
I am looking to one day buy an old (1970s) Ford F-series pickup from the southern US (defined as somewhere with no rust). I've been looking at Craigslist ads casually for about a year, and there's a decent supply of them, but there's so many variations and ranges of condition that it's tough to really figure out what I'd be getting.
I've considered one day just buying a plane ticket to <some city> and seeing what I can do to find something. My worry is I'd do this, and come back empty handed, or there would be payment issues, or something else annoying and expensive. Is there any kind of brokerage service for what I want to do here? I'd give a description of what I want, this person or organization does the finding and the checking out, and I make a decision and then go down and get it? This is just a "what if" thread. Please don't refer me to real services other than to provide examples. I won't be doing this this year, and I don't want to waste anyone's time. |
