and?

I mean, I don't get it.. Yes it's the heaviest Corvette ever. But it's also very likely the fastest Corvette ever. Even moreso than the ZR1.

People don't want lightweight because it's faster. They want it because of how it feels to drive. Also has benefits for track durability, consumables costs, gas mileage, etc.

I fixed that for you. People, in general, don't give a shit.

Haha well I assume we're all enthusiasts here.

Also a lot of folks are looking towards the Z06 as a potential used track car down the line. One of the reasons is is how cheap the C5/C6-Z06 were on consumables in relation to their performance capabilities. If the new C7Z doesn't follow that trend, it'll probably be much less appealing for anyone looking for a good used track car.

I wish 1500-2000 dollars for a set of four tires was considered cheap to me. :/

In all seriousness though.. compared to its performance capabilities.. So we're talking 911 turbo, GTR, Gallardo/Huracan, 458.. It's still going to be cheap compared to all of those mentioned.

Yeah it's all relative to other track cars with its performance capabilities. I was actually considering a C6Z and charted out the pricing on common consumables. Someone else pitched in with costs on a C5Z.

Given the performance of the car (relative to an FR-S), the cost of consumables is quite reasonable.

So interestingly enough I was looking up the cost of carbon ceramic stuff.. The ZR1s carbon ceramic Brembos are ridiculously cheap compared to anything else offered on any other vehicle.

The original post wasn't a stab at the z06, more like a stab at the new mustang.
