clunking when turning when stopped

I have a brz with only suspension modifcations are solid subframe bushings coilovers and adjustable front end links that came with the coils. when im stopped if i turn my wheel i hear a clunking, thinking the end links are too short causing them to bind up maybe i need to make them longer... this just started, the question mark doesnt work on this computer. coils have been on for like 4k.

anyone else have any input

If you're hearing the clunk when turning the wheel, it's probably the springs binding, not the end links. You can try a bit of grease between the spring and the upper and lower perches, or get bearings to go between the spring and upper perch.

What coilovers did you install?

End links don't really move when you're sitting still, so I wouldn't suspect them first.

I'd first look into the springs seats as wparsons mentioned. The spring should be turning with the shock body, but if the spherical bearing is sticking then the upper perch might not want to turn.

It could also possibly be the coilover body itself, i.e. the threaded part of the lower spring perch, or if the body is threaded for adjustable length (where it mounts to the knuckle), check that area as well. This is a little less likely but I can't hear your clunk, so I'm pointing fingers at anything that might make noise.

The problems I described actually occurred with Megans I had many years back. I was looking for a budget coilover and they fit the bill, but the pillowballs wanted to seize up and it would force other parts of the shock to turn, such as the lower threaded sleeve. One set turned on the threads enough (before I noticed it) that the threads in the sleeve were worn through the corrosion protection and rusted to the shock body so badly that I couldn't break them free no matter what I tried. At least replacement parts were cheap. I can't remember, but they may have been making noise. This was roughly 8 years ago so my memory is hazy...

they have stepped their game up from what i can tell. Mine still appear brand new though so i dont think its a issue like that. Gonna jack it up today after work probably and try and check it out. From what i've been told by many people that BC and Megan and apexi are all made in the same factory then sent out and powdercoated and stickered up differently. and they all look identical so i believe it. Lol. Plus they all come with the same endlinks.
