Help with a noise please.

I'm probably being paranoid but today I drove the car a bit longer and harder than normal.

After finishing I heard a strange noise seeming to come from the air vents.

This noise will continue until I take the key all the way out of the ignition.

Doing this on phone. One of those should work

Thanks for any help.

Is your a/c on? If so, does it go away when you turn it off?

Ac was on when It started

Dropping the fan speed to off didn't affect at all.
Actually the only thing so far that alters it is turning the car off.

Well test just a/c on next leg of jouney

Noise will start with ac on or off.

No fans pointing at windshield either

Noise will continue after key is turned off to the acc spot.

Just sitting here listening harder and
I think it's coming from my head unit. It sounds like it might be trying to load a cd.

Now I need to go find one to try and jam In there.

A cd had never been in the head unit (with me anyway) before.

I loaded one in and drove around a bit and it didn't start making the noise.

Will have to do a longer trip to replicate the conditions though.
