New Owner with a few questions

So I just picked up a 2015 BRZ Blue.Series on july 4th and traded in my 04 STi. So far the car is driving well but I'm still in the break in period so I can't go too crazy with it. I wanted to know what if there is anything I should be on the look out for regarding mechanical problems. Also, I was wondering what route the majority of people go with for ECU reflashes and what wheels actually fit on the car. I probably won't go to coils since I had them on the STi and having to rebuild them every 2 years in addition to it being too stiff for a daily driven car. I'm assuming the 2015 is compatible with the same parts as the 2014 and previous years as well. Thanks for any help or insight you guys provide.

For wheels, try this thread

I haven't had any mechanical issues. 6500 *hard* miles on my 2014 FRS. I say *hard* miles because it's my HPDE track car. I have another car for daily.

First off, welcome! Great group of folks here in the Norcal section.

That said, you should definitely have a look at the "technical topics" area, most of your questions can be answered looking through the stickies (ie Issues/Warranty/Recalls for your mechanical issues question, etc.)

Regarding ECU reflashes, seems like alot of the local folks are going with OFT since its very easy plus the tuner (Vishnu) is local to us.

Feel free to swing by one of the local casual meets every week to chat with other members. Since you are in SJ, there is one every Wed. night (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50749)

Welcome and congrats on the new ride!

I'm so jealous i want that car so bad because of the "blue everything" (main reason why i didn't get the wrb because the seat and interior stitching are in red - not matching)

For breaking in the car, join us for the 86drive summer drives as those are times you can fully experience your car, meet other 86s folks, pick up some tips on all of the topics mentioned above, get car's first group photos (@pmok takes awesome photos), go eat, hang out, etc. Plus advices on any future mods.

As far as the car, no mechanical issue for me so far (my BRZ is bone stock). Just the annoying tq dip and cricket noise, which can be resolved technically/creatively by many ways...

For Wheels, here is the resources
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7535

From all I have read about 2015, slight improve on drag, size of exhaust tip and shark-fin antenna

Come join us for our midweek meet so I can have a glimpse of your ride

Rebuilding coilovers every 2 years? That's terrible!
