How long will it take for inventories to normalize?
What's the time frame for cars like these? Think it'll happen sometime before next year?

Honestly, this question is a hard one to answer. Even if you were in the loop (manufacturer/dealer) it would be difficult to answer. Also, many dealers are playing games with the public. Some may even lie and hold inventory to bump up prices. We can only wait and tell.

I work at a dealership and at least there they don't know much more than the public. Even with the delivery dates of the brz they don't have an answer. All dealers are are middle men of a car to the customer.

Probably after November, when the second allocation arrives. At least then you should have a good shot at picking one up off a dealer lot.

I say 1-2 years from now you'll be able to get Subaru VIP pricing if not
less than MSRP off the BRZ, but right now since the car is selling like HOT CAKES MSRP is the best deal.

I suspect when winter comes you will be able to negotiate on some deals, especially in areas with ice as snow. Might scare people away from a RWD sports coupe.
