Cold Air Intake CAI

Hey guys just doing a little research on proper cold air intakes, none of this drop in filters and snorkel piggy back intakes. The CAI that is front and center behind the bumper, with little to no heat leaks.

so far the one that i find is the closest to this is the Mishimoto CAI

Mishimoto CAI
Cost: $374.00
Gains: 10whp/8wtq gains while maintaining A/F ratios with no additional tuning
Bonus:
air straightener/ air diverter plate / oiled Air filter

Next up is

Perrin CAI
Cost: $338.00
Gains: 4
whp/4wtq with no additional tuning
Bonus:License plate frames and 2 stickers....

Perrin also has a another CAI

Perrin
BigMAF CAI 3"
Cost 360.00
Gains 3-4whp/3-4wtq
Bonus:
License plate frames and 2 stickers....
work with custom ECU tuning to maximize performance and air flow.(Tuning required)

Difference between the 2 perrins?
Intake tube is bigger then the other perrin.

End of all this im leaning towards the Mishismoto CAI simply because its a more well thought out product. with the air diverter and Air straightener.

Both will yield about the same power. 3" one will throw off the settings requiring a tune. Both look pretty decent, but I like how the Mishimoto is turning out.

Ordered the Mishimoto intake system last week. Wont see it for 5 to 6 weeks. They made the hp gain on the stock tune.

I call BS on the quoted gains for the Mishimoto. They say those are gains with no tuning... The best dynos I've seen are half of that, with a tune.

As are most vendor dynos. It will take people and third party dynos to debunk the numbers. Overall, the design of the CAI is pretty decent.

from many test we did in NorCal, stock intake does very good performance compare to many aftermarket intakes. a TRD filer gave it a little more hp
