FT86speedfactory and subispeed.com?
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROfRdPZziLo"]Subispeed - 2015 WRX and STI Coilover Overview - YouTube[/ame]
Just seen this. Makes me wonder why they have different company names. Seems to me if you want to make a name for yourself have one shop name that houses all your products. like ams or titan motorspots stuff like that. Every time a new car comes out and they make a new shop name for that car it just seems shady. You spend your time running around trying to chase your tail trying to figure out who these dudes are and if the shop is any good. makes no sense. its just like fab-worx and fa20club being shady. Not trying to stir anything up but as a consumer seeing this you start asking your self questions. @ft86speedfactory

The issue becomes when you are trying to decide what shops to order from and you have new ones popping up all over just because of a new car release. You have no idea whos who and who can be trusted. If you want to be known have a common shop name and build a reputation. Otherwise you have no idea if these guys are jokers and a bunch of newbs trying to make some money.

On the contrary, I think it makes perfect sense to create a new store name for the new car. With a name like FT86SpeedFactory, drivers looking for parts for their new WRX, won't be going to that site to look for their stuffs. It's more of a niche site. It also makes customers think that support is really knowledgable on their specific cars (and they are) as opposed to a one stop shop. Having separate stores makes it easier for customers find what they need. Also good for Google and SEO when people search for aftermarket parts for their specific cars.
Also, the bottom of both sites and their invoices are labeled as JB Autosports, so it's not hard to find out who these dudes really are. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Instead of having all these shop names just use jb autosprots. You dont see PnL changing shop names or or prime and who ever. These shops have been around for a while and people know them. Instead of just using ftspeedfactory they should have just stuck with jb autosports. Makes more sense.

I really like that there is a dedicated shop just for the 86 platform.
But yes i can understand where you are coming from with the fa20club example. I was actually thinking about this the other day. But i trust ft86speedfactory over fa20club. If they want to do separate company names then have at it as long as they stay reputable. |

Perhaps they have internal operation related reasons as well. For example, they want to keep transactions separate as to not co-mingle funds from two different entities even though they are the same corporation. As long as their track record is reputable I don't see why it should be an issue. Based on the forums, members, and their trader rating there shouldn't be an issue. I think you just may be looking into it too much.

This has been going on with multiple companies in multiples industries for over 100 years. Just in the auto industry compare:
Gm = JB Auto Buick, Chevrolet, Pontiac, GMC = small subsidiaries It all comes down to 2 reasons = risk management and product/customer segmentation |

I was just using these as a example since I just seen it. I'm not saying Jeremy and Yo are going to screw you over. Its just we see this all to much with every car that comes out. Its just iterating as all hell when trying to find info on new company.
Until fa20club blew up and started to really dig that's when we all found out about all the other shady little companies. ect. Its all about brand identity. You need to be able to trust a company. You don't see Nike changing the name of there shoe line just for every new sneaker that comes out. Its a brand people come to love that brand they know they can trust a brand. Greddy is a known brand just like hks and so on. These company's make tons of products for multiple cars and people remember them. When I see a car company that only supports one car I see it as a over night start up company and I'm less inclined to do business with them. Right now I have my tunes from @circuitmotorsports and before any money was given to them I was able to Google them and see years of good service. Where as I google subispeed for example and not the same type of results.

It doesn't make me as a consumer think neagtive at all, in fact it simplifies my shopping experience so I don't have to "think" and that is great. I can't stand going to a parts site and having to filter down things to my car. What a great concept of a entire website dedicated to parts that only fit the 86 platform thus keeping the guess work out of trying to find parts. And the fact that they are branching out to other car types with separate sites, showcases the growing of their business and the efforts to simplify the customer experience. I have ordered most of my parts from @ft86speedfactory and couldn't be more satisfied with the reliability and professionalism I have experienced. I think there are Tons of positive reviews for the company here on the forums and that speaks for itself.

I know Jeremy's and Yo's faces from all the FT86SpeedFactory videos I've watched; so when I see their faces again on videos from another site, that's enough assurance for me

I'm just using them as an example. Peronsally I'm more comfortable with a place that has been around for years and has the history to back it up. When I google new shops with no history that's a big red flag for me. Again not bagging on these guys I know there good dudes. It's just a example. I prefer brand identity.

Just search JB Autosports and you will see how respected they are.
It's the exact same reason why Toyota made Scion. Different market, different products, different name, same quality and identity. |
