Knock from a bad tune can cause a rod to bend, yes.

I know little to nothing about tuning so this is my attempt to becoming better informed...

I'm not mentioning any names but this is what I have been informed (summarizing);

Since our cars were not made for boost they can not handle the extra power. I was advised against pushing E85 tune above 400WHP and my Gas beyond 270 because the rods will fail.

After seeing dyno graphs again and again in the contrary to this i'm in search of more information.

thoughts?

It all depends on the tune. If you have a rock solid tune where you are within the limits of your fuel/knock and you are not pushing it beyond those limits, then your engine should not fail unexpectedly. It will incur more wear and tear as expected.

270 - 280 is about what I can achieve safely on CA 91 octane with a GT3076 where I am within the limits of my fuel.

E85 is another story. Obviously the more torque the motor is making... the more wear and tear and the more prone it will be that something not engineered for 300 - 350 wtq will break.

I understand that, but two motors have failed within 1 month of the tune. Shop says it the rods and not the tune. I'm just trying to get educated, not point fingers

You had two engines fail? I would say very much so that your issue is with tuning of this indeed occur. Do you have any of the logs?

Awesome context bro, no logs, no tuners to drive conclusions from is kind of hard to pin point issues.

It is almost like trying to find the gene that makes two kids fall down a hole, without knowing where, size, ample warning or was the kids retarded or their parents taught them jump in every single hole they see.

Its not an "issue" thread... Its a "can the tune bend rods"

I was told by the tunner they pull timing to cut power to prevent rods from bending...
