Water spots in clear coat?

The landscaping company at work sprayed my car down yesterday and splashed muddy water from the sod all over my car. I washed it today and now I have very faint water spots in my clear coat. They are super faint and are more like places where the clear coat isn't perfect anymore than regular water spots. I talked to the landscaping company and they say they just sprayed potable water out of the hydrant, so how did this happen? How do I fix it? I've attached pics of it pre-wash, but there's no way I can get a picture of the little spots.

I think they come and go. I'd give it a good wash, then wait. For me, they then go away (and appear elsewhere).

It's hard water, full of calcium and a few other minerals. Water evaporates, leaves the mineral deposits. You can use anything lightly acidic to remove them, even just plain white vinegar should work. Or you can get some polisher and a buffer. It sucks if you don't have softened water to wash with, you need to move to get the car dry before you get spots. I get the same thing if I park next to sprinklers where I live.

For months I had water spots on my car that wouldn't come out - I tried washing the car well, distilled white vinegar, a polishing compound, and nothing would work.

Then I tried a new product from the site that I purchase all of my car care products from (run by a professional detailer and perhaps the nicest guy you'll ever meet). It's called Spotless and here is a link to it: http://www.carpro-us.com/auto-wash/s...remover-500ml/

You spray some over the area and gently massage it with a MF towel for awhile and then rinse it off with water. I was shocked and thrilled when I found out it worked.

My car is opti-coated, so I'm not sure if that will cause the results to differ, but so far this product has worked great for me and is something that I will always keep stocked in my arsenal. I'd definately try more conventional, or cheaper methods like a few of the ones I tried first as you'll have to pay for the product (which, imo, isn't a bad price) and shipping.

GL getting the water spots out - mine came from rusty water pipes dripping water from the ceiling in the garage I park at at work; it totally sucks having this sort of thing happen despite our best efforts to take care of, and protect our vehicles

Thanks for the advice, guys. I called the landscaping company and they offered to pay for a wash at a local car wash (automated wash plus wipe down and interior clean). I said no thanks, lol. I picked up some Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax and I think that helped--I can't locate the spots anymore. Not sure if they will show back up when it wears off or not. It's my DD so I don't need it to be perfect, but I don't understand why people can't respect other people's things. I mean, they saw an entire line of cars and they went by and just sprayed nasty water all over them instead of taking a few minutes to walk inside and warn people. I would've been totally willing to move my car.
