I run torco 100 synthetic sr1 10w 30 in summer due to the fact i run it hard.

I run 0W-20 for my track events with a Cusco oil cooler, and I have zero issues.

The manufacturer engineered the engine to run on 0W-20. When they performed tests on the engine -- they included people running the car hard. If they weren't sure that the car could handle a 7.5k Redline, they wouldn't had put that there.

If they believed the car needed a higher viscosity oil, they would had put in something else.

Fact is: They engineered the engine, they know what the engine needs, they know what's best. 0W-20.

My manual suggests a higher viscosity oil for high temperature or hard driving conditions.

Otherwise I agree with you completely, this is a discussion for either the track sub-forum or the maintenance sub-forum for when you decide to deviate outside average driving conditions.

^This. Stop worrying and drive your car and put in 0w-20. Even autocross is less than 1-2 minutes long your oil isn't going to get hot enough before you wait again to matter.

Now long sessions on a road course are a different story...
