New car! but this tiny thing is weird

So I just picked up my new SWP, and it's great!

But I noticed the following little "button" on the passenger side dash very close to the windshield. What is that?? What's weird is that it's NOT on the driver's side -- compare the two pics. The button doesn't seem to serve any purpose, should I just pull it off?

I believe that is your sensor for your auto headlights.

Ah, my google search won't post the link... Google brz auto headlight sensor location and the au link has it confirmed for auto headlights... Makes sense as mine turn on when I have my sunshade up.

It's a headlight sensor, my 2005 Camry has it also. If it's dark, and you have it set to auto setting for your headlights, it'll turn on when it's dark.
