So I just picked up my new SWP, and it's great!

But I noticed the following little "button" on the passenger side dash very close to the windshield. What is that?? What's weird is that it's NOT on the driver's side -- compare the two pics. The button doesn't seem to serve any purpose, should I just pull it off?

I believe that is your sensor for your auto headlights.

Alain 05-05-2014 09:14 PM

I believe thats the temperature sensor. Correct me if im wrong

ekaj 05-05-2014 09:15 PM

Yeah, it's useless. Pull it off.

Kimsey47 05-05-2014 09:17 PM

Ah, my google search won't post the link... Google brz auto headlight sensor location and the au link has it confirmed for auto headlights... Makes sense as mine turn on when I have my sunshade up.

SmartedPanda 05-05-2014 09:19 PM

It's a headlight sensor, my 2005 Camry has it also. If it's dark, and you have it set to auto setting for your headlights, it'll turn on when it's dark.

I suggest reading your manual.

Mine is 2013 MY Owner's Manual. 2014 may have changed.
