STI Cluster Install

1. First remove the Phillip's screw.
2. Lift the gauge cluster hood at 45 degree.
3. Pull hard the cluster surround towards you. No need to unplug the ODO Trip connector.
4. Remove the 2 screws located on top of the cluster.
5. Pull the cluster and unplug the connector.
6. Install the new cluster.
7. Reinstall the cluster connector. You will need to push the cable back into that hole.
8. Follow the instructions in reverse to reinstall everything.

The gear indicator, shift light and shift indicator works perfectly.
You don't need to stop at your Subaru dealer to pair it with onboard key radio code. It is plug and play for the model with the push start.
As for the odometer, you need Subaru to but it back.
If the cluster is already paired with another vehicle, I don't think you can paired it back. You will have to take it apart and transfer the face and needle to your old one.
I was also unable to switch from MPH to KM/H, C to F and mp/g to km/l. The top button is now useless.

Nice!

So the only problem so far is that you cannot switch from KM to Miles?

Was also thinking of getting this...

When you say Plug and Play, does it still read your original KM?

There's a gear indicator option on the FRS so I would assume it's just turned on, but that cluster looks great! Not sure if I would do it just got the STi logo though

It will not keep your original KM. You start back to zero.

This means you will HAVE to go back to the dealership to get it reprogrammed so the cluster matches the ACTUAL mileage in your ECU...

Do you think they would actually do it?

It's okay, just drive the amount of miles that was on your old ECU. Bam, problem solved.

Thanks for this! I've been thinking of getting one for a while, but wasn't sure if it was PnP or not.

Has anyone contacted the dealer to see if they can change the odometer to match the vehicle? I've worked for a Toyota dealer for a number of years and remember a tech telling me that cluster odometers are independent of the ECU. I could be mistaken though

Might as well get a frs gauge cluster instead or hopefully find someone with the same mileage and swap

Maybe it doesn't switch because the tS clusters aren't able to since they're not sold in standard-unit countries like the US.
