Upshifting sound

Hey guys!

I recently started noticing a sound when driving around in my car and shifting gears. It sounds like a scratching noise at the back of the car. Some people mentionned that the driveshaft could be the culprit, as it's 2 parts from what I gathered.

It also does that sound when I'm just pressing on the throttle from just cruising to wide open throttle. Hope it's not a clutch issue

Nope, it's very specific to the car, not caused by external elements. It did that in the snow and I notice it a lot more these days.

It sounds like a scratching sound, or a very slight grind.

Doesn't sound like it. It sounds like a scratching sound. A slipping clutch could be the issue, but is it supposed to do it even when I'm not even touching the clutch pedal?

If the clutch was slipping, it would slip more at high rpm under high load (gear doesn't matter) and the revs would rise faster than normal and/or you'd feel a loss of acceleration.

If it was a shifting issue, you wouldn't hear it when in gear.

At what rpm are you noticing this? Does it make the noise during tip in or the whole time during acceleration?

The sound is produced when around 2.5 to 3k rpm, right when I floor it, you hear the scratching sound.

It also does it when shifting and hitting the gas (acceleration for example)

I am also having this issue! It sounds like a wire brush scratching against metal. I thought it was the throw out bearing at first but it didn't make sense because I had to be shifting or cruising to WOT to hear the noise. It's a pretty distinct sound though. I've been trying to wrap my head around it for a while now. PLEASE HELP!!!
