raising the hood to combat the heat?

So before summer hits, I am trying to get all my cooling mods for my front mount turbo set up completed. The functional side vents seem interesting, as well as drilling holes in the front bumper.

Does putting spacers in the hood to create some space help dissipate the heat in the engine compartment? I was hoping to have something not so permanent (rainy PNW) but something I can do before auto-x or canyon runs on a sunny day.

Of course vented CF hood will be ideal, but I will have to switch them out for fall/winter anyways (or fab a rain guard).

I've never done this so mechanically, not sure if this is safe/PITA/ghetto and not viable.

Has anyone done it yet?

Doesn't work unless you're at slow speeds and maybe sideways...

Base of the windshield is a high pressure zone, so at speed you're actually making it HARDER for air to pass through the front of the car as you're now pressurizing the engine bay from both ends.
