I am selling the BBK that is on my car. I installed it in January and ran one track day. The brakes are fantastic, but I am now parting out the car. These are basically the same brakes you get with the "TRD BBK".
The price is $6,000 shipped. Black calipers Slotted rotors http://www.enjukuracing.com/products...ubaru-BRZ.html 6 piston front http://www.enjukuracing.com/products...ubaru-BRZ.html 4 piston rear |

So don't look at it so much from perspective of the average consumer for use in street cars. Big Brake kits come in all forms, and some are multi-piece systems that make different fitments easier, and manufacturing more sensibly cheaper, at half or less the MSRP. They do a fair bit of good in terms of controlling temperature induced fade and last a bit longer due to larger than stock size, but they often don't improve the braking control as the multi-piece systems can still flex a bit under high temps like stock calipers. Those are more street-fashion brake kits... However.... What is being offered for sale here is a 'monoblock' forged caliper set, and these are true ONE-Piece caliper that will not flex, and provide ultimate control of brake and withstand glowing red temperatures for hours on end. They cost a ton to manufacture correctly, and companies like AP, Alcon, and Brembo are the renowned and proven for exactly these types of true racing car applications. It's overkill for street cars, of course, but in conditions I explained in above statement, these are really effective and necessary in some special cases and stages. Of course it doesn't hurt to apply them on our own street, part time Sunday track cars, but it is all relative how far we want to overbuild the cars. Keep in mind though, that caliper replacements are only half the design process, and there are things like master cylinder sizing, proportioning, and very importantly, pad material and character too. Also for modern street cars, compatibility with ABS, VSC, and other control systems too, are factors. This system however, is compatible with the Toyota 86 (BRZ/FRS inclusive) as it is the same system TRD sells re-branded as their own with Toyota's own certificate of testing, and customer relations programs added. It also means it meets the stringent quality control that Toyota seeks in anything they offer from liability risk management too. So these have been tested to work adequately and effectively on OEM master cylinder capacity and other variables. So for that, $6000 pricetag starts to seem very reasonable for those who do need them, knwoing that TRD also uses Brembo monoblocks for their own race car programs and even offers them for upgrade on street cars from AREA86 and TRD Technocraft Catalog.
